If a rental was voided or completed prematurely, you can reopen it to make changes, add charges, or correct mistakes.
How to Reopen
- Open the voided or completed rental's detail view
- Click the Reopen button in the header
- The rental returns to its previous active status
When to Use Reopen
- Forgotten charges — You completed the rental but need to add a damage fee or mileage overage
- Accidental void — A booking was voided by mistake and needs to be restored
- Refund processing — You need to reopen a completed rental to process a refund
- Late-discovered damage — Damage found during post-rental inspection that needs to be charged
What Happens When You Reopen
- If the rental was Completed, it returns to Checked In status
- If the rental was Voided, it returns to the status it was in before being voided
- The vehicle is re-blocked for those dates (may conflict with new bookings)
- All original data (line items, payments, notes) is preserved
Frequently Asked Questions
Will reopening conflict with another booking on the same vehicle?
Potentially yes. If the vehicle was booked by someone else for overlapping dates after the void, reopening will create a scheduling conflict. Check the fleet timeline first.
