Configuring Fixed Taxes for Rentals

Last updated on Jul 08, 2026

Fixed taxes are flat-fee charges applied to rentals after percentage-based taxes. Use them for location-specific fees like Hawaii's Transient Accommodation Tax (TAT) or airport surcharges.

How Fixed Taxes Work

  • Flat (one-time) — A single fee applied once per rental, regardless of duration
  • Per Day — A fee multiplied by the number of rental days

Fixed taxes are applied after percentage taxes and do not affect subtotal calculations. They are automatically applied to new rentals — existing rentals are not affected by changes.

Adding a Fixed Tax

  1. Go to Settings → Rentals → General

  2. Scroll to the Fixed Taxes card

  3. Click Add Tax

  4. Fill in the form:

    • Tax Name (required) — e.g., "Hawaii TAT", "Airport Fee"
    • Amount (required) — the dollar amount
    • Type — choose Flat (one-time) or Per Day
    • Description (optional) — customer-facing explanation
  5. Click Add Tax to save

Editing a Fixed Tax

  1. In the fixed taxes table, click the edit icon (pencil) next to the tax
