What Leads Are
A lead represents a potential customer who has expressed interest in renting a vehicle but hasn't completed a booking. Leads come from:
- Website inquiries — Forms on your showroom or custom website
- Phone/walk-in — Manually created by your team
- Marketplace — Inquiries from Pocket Drives
Lead Table
The list shows all leads with columns for:
- Name — Contact name
- Status — New, Contacted, Qualified, Converted, Lost
- Disposition — The current stage (hot, warm, cold, dead)
- Assigned To — Which team member owns this lead
- Vehicle Interest — What vehicle(s) they're interested in
- Source — Where the lead came from
- Created — When the lead was created
Converting a Lead to a Rental
When a lead is ready to book, you can convert it to a rental directly from the lead detail page. This creates a new rental pre-populated with the lead's information.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a lead and a rental in Quote status?
A lead is a pre-booking inquiry — no vehicle is reserved yet. A Quote is an actual rental record with a vehicle blocked on the calendar. Leads convert to Quotes/Rentals when the customer is ready to commit.
